Thanksgiving Card- Leaves

Here is that card I made for my daughters' teachers and my family.

I used the SU! stamp set Falling Leaves for the leaves and my sentiment. I stamped them on Whisper White CS using SU! Classic Ink in: More Mustard, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, and Soft Suede. My card base is More Mustard. I used the SU! DSP in Spice Cake for the card front. After I had stamped my leaves, I punched them out with 1.25 inch (I think anyways that is the size!!) square punch and popped them up with dimensionals before layering them on Soft Suade CS. My sentiment was layered on Pool Party CS. Note that I did ink a lot of the edges on this card.

Thanksgiving- Kleenex Holder

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My family and I did. This week I am going to finish sharing my Thanksgiving projects. This one is a cute travel sized kleenex holder. I think it turned out really cute. For a video on how to make one of your own check out France Martin's video here. She does such a great job with her videos and I love to watch them.

I used the SU! Spice Cake DSP, More Mustard CS, Pool Party CS, and Pear Pizzazz CS to decorate the outside. I made my big flower rosette with the Spice Cake DSP also and added a jumbo Spice Cake button with Soft Suede ribbon tied in the middle. I used one of the stamps from Grateful Greetings for my message and I stamped that on Very Vanilla and matted that in Pear Pizzazz.

Thanksgiving Card- Punch Art Ribbon Turkey

I love, love, love this card. I made 6 of them... one for each of my girls, my sister in New York, and my nieces and nephews on my husband's side. I wish I could take credit for the adorable turkey but I can't. You can find the directions for him on Lynn Pratt's blog here.

I used Pear Pizzazz for my card base and SU! Spice Cake DSP for my card front. Since I had some small strips of the DSP left over I flipped them over and matted them on Pool Party for that something extra. My gretting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes... the most versatile and must have set ever.

I will apologize for the lighting. I tried to get some close-ups of him and they just didn't turn out. I live in central Ohio and we are in a rainy holding pattern so there is not a bit on natural light coming in.

I will note that one difference in my turkey is that I used the flame from the Cupcake Builder punch for his wattle (I am just going to go with that but I am not sure that is the correct name for it).

Triangle of Treats

This trianlge box is easier than it looks. I used a 4 1/8 by 8 1/4 piece of More Mustard cardstock. I scored it on half long wise at the 4 1/4 mark. At each end, I made a little tick mark in the center. I then scored it from the each corner the tock mark on both sides, turned it around, and scored the other side. I then cut a triangle from the SU! DSP Spice Cake. I adhered it to the front. I used a small rectangle of Pool Party cardstock to set the tag off a little more. It needed a little something behind the tag. I did round the corners.

I used the Thanksgiving stamp from the set Gift Givers. I used Chocolate Chip ink to stamp it on Very Vanilla. I set this aside to dry a bit. After it dried, I used my ink pads and a blender pen to color in the image in Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, and More Mustard. I punched it out with SU! Curly Label punch. I layed my stamped image on my Pool Party cardstock with dimensionals and then popped the whole thing up on the front of the box. I punched holes at the top on each side and tied the triangle box closed with some Soft Suede 3/8 inch Taffeta Ribbon. But wait... before you tie it closed be sure to fill it with a favorite treat of the intended recipient. I am filling mine with Hershey Kisses with Caramel. OKAY!! I admit it... they are one of MY favorites.

Thanksgiving Goes to School- Part 3

To share with you today I have a handy, dancy, and oh so cute Post-It note holder. I got the post it notes at my local office supply store. I cut a 3.25 inch by 6.75 inch piece of cardstock in Soft Suede. I then scored 3.25 from each of the long ends giving my a .25 inch spine. I punched a 3 7/8 scalloped square and run it through the new SU! Houndstooth Embossing Folder. I love the look of it! I adhered that to my front. I next used the SU! DSP in Spice Cake and punched out a Fancy Flower. I used the new SU! 3/8 inch Ruffled Ribbon in Pool Party and tied a knot in it before adding it to the middle of the flower.

I added about a half of a stack of Post-It notes to the inside and adhered it well!! I then took my Big Crop-A-Dile and punched a hole through the entire thing. Lastly, I just used a metal ring and put it through the hole. The ring can be opened to remove the Post-It note or you can just pull it away from the ring.

Thanksgiving Goes to School- Part 1

One of the gifts for the girls' teachers for Thanksgiving will be this junior legal pad. It is so easy but so cute! I got the junior legal pads at my local office supply store. I added a strip of Pool Party cardstock to the bottom edge of the top part after I punched it with my Scallop Trim Border punch. I didn't add it to my practice one and it just needed something... I think it adds a lot! I then covered the top, top edge, and back with SU! DSP in Spice Cake.

I stamped the Fancy Flower with the SU! set Punched Posies in Pool Party on Whisper White cardstock. I punched it out with the Fancy Flower punch. After I did that I cleaned the stamp and used my Stampin' Write marker in More Mustard and colored just the center of the Fancy Flower. I punched the center out with a 3/4 inch circle punch. I added a Glimmer Brads Basic in the Champagne. I popped the center piece up before adding it to my flower and then popped the entire Fancy Flower up before centering it on the junior legal pad.

I played along with the MOJO Monday sketch challenge and I have to say I am quite pleased with the results. Check out that perfectly roasted turkey! Want to make one of your own? Check out Lynn Pratt's blog Stamp-n-Design. I am not sure where I first saw this but I remembered seeing it and searched for it so I could use it this Thanksgiving.

I used Very Vanilla for my card base and inked the edges with Soft Suede. I added a More Mustard card front and layered a 3 inch circle from the SU! Spice Cake DSP, which I also inked. Isn't it so pretty. I wanted to bring out the blue in, SU!'s In Color Pool Party so I choose that for my pennant. My turkey was made using the bird punch and owl punch, both from SU! I inked the bird a little, used the Designer Label Punch for my Whisper White serving tray after I inked it, and popped it all up with dimensionals. This is layered onto Very Vanilla cardstock with the edges also inked up. I will admit if I had some silver cardstock on hand the tray would have been silver. I added my sentiment from the SU! set Thankful For. Since I didn't want a bow like the sketch, I decided to add 3 Very Vanilla brads.

I really love how it turned out and soon it will be in my Aunt Peggy's mailbox:)
