Happy 3rd Birthday Ethan Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Let me start by wishing you each a very Happy Thanksgiving! Today we have a very special line-up to share with you in honor of Ethan celebrating his 3rd birthday. Here is a little about Ethan:

Ethan is a courageous little boy who came into this world with obstacles to overcome and he has proven he has a strong will and determination that is an inspiration to his family and friends. This hop is to celebrate Ethan's 3rd birthday and to show him that there are people who he does not know personally but who think he it a true gift from God.

Ethan's mother, Melissa, has asked us to share a story from a past birthday that was special in our lives, so today along with our cards we made for Ethan, we will be sharing a special part of our lives too and I ask that you take the time to read through those special memories along with wishing Ethan a very happy 3rd birthday.

Here is my personal story to share:

Growing up we didn't do big birthday parties. I really don't know why, but it was always just family. One year when I was in 9th grade I went out for my birthday to do some shopping and hang out with a few of my friends. When we returned home about 9pm or so my house was filled with decorations, more friends, and my family. I truly had NO idea they were planning a surprise birthday party and I was completely shocked that they went through so much trouble planning it, getting friends and family on board, and getting it all put together. It was a fun birthday for sure!!

For my project, I opted not to do a card. I love 3D projects so that is what I did. I made a cute little gift box that is just perfect for presenting a small gift to someone with a fall birthday or one close to Thanksgiving. I love the warm colors and enjoyed bringing in the blues and pinks into the project. All materials are Stampin' Up!.

Thank you for hopping today and please continue on to Scrappin Madge here.

Again, have a safe, blessed, and very Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Birthday Rebecca Blog Hop!

Before yesterday I had never been in a blog hop and now this is my second one in two days!! We are celebratingRebecca's birthday and sharing some creative cards with you. If you are hopping along in order you just came from Tricia blog at Mystical Card Creations.

I really wanted to create card that had a rainbow feel after the beautiful rainbow we had after the rain the other day. I wanted it to be happy and fun so I thought I would use butterflies. I really love how the card turned out!

Here it is:

I used the retired Stampin' Up! set Flower Fest for the butterfly and the background is En Francais. That one is still current. I punched out the butterflies with the retired butterfly punch but if you wanted to recreate this card you could easily use the new stamp set Papillon Potpourri and the coordinating punch.

It is time to keep hopping! Up next is Lisa over at Lisa's Creative Niche.

If you had to stop hopping and want to pick up where you left off here is the complete line-up:

A Spoonful of Sugar's Blogiversary Blog Hop

Hi Everyone! It is my friend, Annette's, two year blogiversary and she has a great line-up of papercrafters in her Blogiversary Blog Hop. Won't you come and hop along with us? If you have been hopping along you just came from Melinda Gleissner's blog My Notworthy Cards, where she created a wonderful card to share. She is very talented!

I had no mojo when I sat down to create my card. I really didn't. I had a rough day that day and papercrafting wasn't helping as it usually does. I know this sounds crazy but do you ever see something you like and want to create something kind of like it and it just doesn't come out the way you envisioned? Yep, it was that kind of day! My first one didn't come out like I wanted so I ended up turning to this weeks Mojo Monday sketch to help me get a little of my crafting mojo back. I really like how the card turned out so I decided it would be the card I shared first. I will share the other one next week.

Here is my card:

I used the stamp set Up, Up, & Away from Stampin"up! and 4 of their new In Colors: Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, and Rasberry Ripple.

Here is the sketch:

It is time to keep hopping along! Enjoy Sarah Hamer's card that she created to share with youover at Pink Cricut.

If you had to stop in the middle of the hop and want to pick back up where you left off here is the complete lineup:

Thanks A Bunch (Mojo Monday 252 Challenge)

Hi,

I did my card for the Mojo Monday 252 Challenge a few day ago but didn't ever get it posted. I am not sure where the week went. I went on a 4 day scrapbooking retreat in Amish Country (Holmes County- Berlin, Ohio) with Noreen at Scrap-n-Country. I made this card for her as a thank you for hosting another spectacular event for all of us scrapping ladies. I did not make any cards while I was there but I did get done 18 double page layouts! There was 24 hour scrapbooking and I think my latest night was 3:30am. The last time I went I made it past 5am but it took me a long time to recover so I had to force myself to go to bed a bit early:) LOL!

Here is my card:

This was my first ever round card! I have to say it was much more challenging than I thought it would be. I think it was because I had a hard time fitting in everything in the smaller small but I do like how it turned out.

Until next time,
Shelly

Mojo Monday #252 Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I am busy working on my card for the MojoMonday #252 Sketch Challenge. I am hoping to post it on Thursday so check back:)

Here is the sketch:

You can pick either round or square. The Stampin' Up! large scallop circle die has been on my wish list for a long time and it never made the cut. I kept seeing the round cards at the end of every month and would be upset with myself for not ordering it! Well, I FINALLY ordered it so can you guess which style card I am making?

Until next time,

Mojo Monday #251

I don't think I will have time to play along with Mojo Monday this week. I am going on a Scrapbooking Retreat this weekend and I have a lot to do in order to get ready for it. I wanted to at least share the sketch and if I have time I will try to play along. Click here to see their original post.

Freshly Made Sketches: Moving Forward

I decided to use Moving Forward again for the Freshly Made Sketches #44 Challenge. I just love this stamp set and a donation is made to the Ronald McDonald house with every purchase. Here is my card:

Here is the original sketch:

Since my sentiment was on my main circle, I decided to add a strip of DSP in Polka Dot Parade in its place. You might be thinking to yourself that I didn't copy the sketch exactly. And you would be right! The great thing about sketched is that you can using them as a starting point for your card and tweak it and interpret as you see fit for your card. My main image of the bike was big and I needed the space in my circle to showcase the image so instead of overlapping a large circle, I decided to add the three flower along the edge. I like the card and I think it is ALWAYS okay to interpret a sketch in a way that fits what you are designing. Remember, sketches are designed to get the creative juices flowing but don't be afraid if the creativity takes a few twists and turns by the time it is finished. It will be all good in the end.

I know I had two posts today. The deadline for the two sketched were today and tomorrow and I needed to get them posted. My week ended up being way busier than I thought last week and it didn't leave much time for papercrafting fun so I needed to catch up today:)

Here are the details:
Stamp Set: Moving Forward
Ink: Real Red, Stampin' Write Markers in Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Real Red
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Accessories: Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Trio Flower Punch (retired but I still love it)

Until next time,
Shelly

Happy Birthday!

One of the girls on our soccer team is having a birthday. My daughter is attending her birthday party tomorrow so I wanted to make her a hand made birthday card. She is the cutest little girl and the team loves her. I decided to play along with a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. I think the card turned out great!!

I was originally going to use Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Lucky Limeade, but decided to pull out my handy dandy color coach first. I saw the combo of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise and thought is was perfect for a summer birthday party at the pool.

I used Daffodil Delight as my card base. I then took a piece of Melon Mambo DSP and added the scallop from the Adorning Accents Edgelits. Isn't it pretty? I added a small piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock.  I used the Lablels Collection Framelits to cut my Whisper White cardsotck out. I then stamped the cup cake bottom three times in Daffodil Delight from the Hostess Set A Cherry On Top on Whisper White. Then I stamped two Melon Mambo cupcake tops and the another in Tempting Turquoise.I cut them all out by hand and adhered the bottom with adhesive and popped the cupcake tops with Stampin' Dimensionals. After that I added the Happy Birthday sentiment from the same stamp set but used a Stampin' Write marker to only stamp the part I wanted. A girlie birthday card is not complete without some bling so I added the three Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the bottom. I think it turned out super cute.

Smile:)

How can you not smile when you see a kite soaring through the air? I decided to use the set "Send Me Soaring for my card today. In my new stash I got the set Fabulous Phrases and I used that to stamp me sentiment. I think this is a great card just to brighten someone's day for no other reason than to make them SMILE!

Here are links to the challenges if you want to play along:

Mojo Monday 249
Paper Players
Pink By Design

Here is what I came up with:

All my supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless noted.

For my card I used:
Stamp Sets: Fabulous Phrases, Send Me Soaring
Card Stock: Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White
Ribbon: 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon in Lucky Limeade, Baker's Twine in Lucky Limeade
Accesories: Chevron Embossing Folder, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Stampin' Dimensionals.

My daughter, Emily (age 6), was down here with me and while I created my card she created a card of her own. She asked me to share it with you so here it is:

I hope you enjoyed my card. Please leave a comment so I know you stopped by!

The Mother of All Stampin' Supplies Has Arrived! I am ready to play along with a few challenges.

Hi Everyone! Well, the day has come! I waited ALL day for the man in the big brown truck to arrive so I could get all my new goodies from Stampin' Up! I am excited to get the new firm foam pads and lots of new stamp sets. I decided I would play along with the ladies over at the Paper Players and they had a color challenge this week- and two of the colors I don't have in the new pads since they are In Colors for 2011-2013. I couldn't see replacing them. The other color was Daffodil Delight but I didn't stamp any ink in that color so I was out of luck in getting to use the new ink pads. But, that is okay but I haven't stamped in so long that I was just happy to be stamping. I guess you want to know what the other two colors were. Here is the challenge:

I thought it would be fun to combine a few challenges as an extra challenge to myself so I also used my card to play along with Mojo Monday's sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

My friend Annette over at A. Spoon Full of Sugar is always encouraging me to try some of the Pink by Design Challenges and this week it was to use ribbon. I managed to incorporate some ribbon into my card too! So, I guess I am entering three challenges to welcome me back into the crafting zone!

Stop by tomorrow to see what I created:)

"luv u a latte" with Minnie Mouse

Hi Everyone! I know it has been forever and a day since I have actually shared anything with you. I have been selling some older stamp sets and ink pads to make room for some all new sets! I ordered the all new Firm Foam Ink Pads from Stampin' UP! and I am so excited for them to get here. So that is pretty much why I haven't been able to create anything. I sold the old ink pads... and I am waiting for the new ink pads to arrival. Stampin' Up! has been one busy place and it took longer than usual to get my order packed up and on its way. They should be here by the end of the week so I will be able to start playing again.

So, now it is time to share another Disneyscrapbook page. Today I have for you a Minnie Mouse page from our dinner at Chef Mickey's. I love the picture of Emily showing Minnie that there was a picture of her on her shirt. It was so cute:) It is the picture to the far right.

Both girls pages were the same so here is one:

Until next time... Happy Scrappin' and Happy Stampin'!

Animal Kingdom

I loved Animal Kingdom! The baby giraffe and elephants were so cute. I honestly don't think I have ever seen a hippomotamus in real life until our trip to Disney World. I know no zoo that I have ever been to has had one.

Tree of Life

The Tree of Life was amazing! It was so detailed and every time I looked at it I noticed a new animal nestled into the carvings.

Sorry the picture is so out of focus!

Colors of the Wind

Did you guess this was a page featuring Pocahontas? This was the only time we saw her during our visit so I am glad we took a quick picture even if the girls weren't super into it at the moment! This was on our way into Animal Kingdom.

Elizabeth and Emily:

I have been so busy student teaching that I didn't realize all of my scheduled posts were finished up and I didn't have any more ready to go! I am trying to get a few ready to go for the next few weeks until I can return to live posts after my student teaching is done. It is going great and I love it... the time is just flying by!!

Our first day at Walt Disney World has come to an end. We ended the night with Chip and Dale. It was the only time we ever saw them so I am glad we stopped and got some pictures, even if we were all worn out.

Donald Duck

Even as we headed home for the night we were still running into characters. Here we met Donald Duck. The girls were pretty tired at this point so we didn't get a lot of great pictures of each of them so their pages ended up having the same pictures on them.

Belle: So Beautiful

Belle was the third princess we met in the Princess room. She got down right on the floor with the girls, which was really nice because Emily was a little shy.

Emily

Elizabeth

I will apologize that they are all going to be a little fuzzy. I had to take the pictures with the flash off since the flash reflected off of the pictures. I think you can still get the idea of the pages though. Scrapbooking these has been an over 2 year process and I never imagined that would one day be sharing them on my blog. Therefore, I do not have any specific product detail. Please enjoy them and use them for inspiration when scrapbooking your trip.
