Mojo Monday #251

I don't think I will have time to play along with Mojo Monday this week. I am going on a Scrapbooking Retreat this weekend and I have a lot to do in order to get ready for it. I wanted to at least share the sketch and if I have time I will try to play along. Click here to see their original post.

Until next time,

Freshly Made Sketches: Moving Forward

I decided to use Moving Forward again for the Freshly Made Sketches #44 Challenge. I just love this stamp set and a donation is made to the Ronald McDonald house with every purchase. Here is my card:

Here is the original sketch:

Since my sentiment was on my main circle, I decided to add a strip of DSP in Polka Dot Parade in its place. You might be thinking to yourself that I didn't copy the sketch exactly. And you would be right! The great thing about sketched is that you can using them as a starting point for your card and tweak it and interpret as you see fit for your card. My main image of the bike was big and I needed the space in my circle to showcase the image so instead of overlapping a large circle, I decided to add the three flower along the edge. I like the card and I think it is ALWAYS okay to interpret a sketch in a way that fits what you are designing. Remember, sketches are designed to get the creative juices flowing but don't be afraid if the creativity takes a few twists and turns by the time it is finished. It will be all good in the end.

I know I had two posts today. The deadline for the two sketched were today and tomorrow and I needed to get them posted. My week ended up being way busier than I thought last week and it didn't leave much time for papercrafting fun so I needed to catch up today:)

Here are the details:
Stamp Set: Moving Forward
Ink: Real Red, Stampin' Write Markers in Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Real Red
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Accessories: Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Trio Flower Punch (retired but I still love it)

Until next time,
Shelly

Happy Birthday!

One of the girls on our soccer team is having a birthday. My daughter is attending her birthday party tomorrow so I wanted to make her a hand made birthday card. She is the cutest little girl and the team loves her. I decided to play along with a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. I think the card turned out great!!

I was originally going to use Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Lucky Limeade, but decided to pull out my handy dandy color coach first. I saw the combo of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise and thought is was perfect for a summer birthday party at the pool.

I used Daffodil Delight as my card base. I then took a piece of Melon Mambo DSP and added the scallop from the Adorning Accents Edgelits. Isn't it pretty? I added a small piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock.  I used the Lablels Collection Framelits to cut my Whisper White cardsotck out. I then stamped the cup cake bottom three times in Daffodil Delight from the Hostess Set A Cherry On Top on Whisper White. Then I stamped two Melon Mambo cupcake tops and the another in Tempting Turquoise.I cut them all out by hand and adhered the bottom with adhesive and popped the cupcake tops with Stampin' Dimensionals. After that I added the Happy Birthday sentiment from the same stamp set but used a Stampin' Write marker to only stamp the part I wanted. A girlie birthday card is not complete without some bling so I added the three Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the bottom. I think it turned out super cute.

Smile:)

How can you not smile when you see a kite soaring through the air? I decided to use the set "Send Me Soaring for my card today. In my new stash I got the set Fabulous Phrases and I used that to stamp me sentiment. I think this is a great card just to brighten someone's day for no other reason than to make them SMILE!

Here are links to the challenges if you want to play along:

Pink By Design

Here is what I came up with:

All my supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless noted.

For my card I used:
Stamp Sets: Fabulous Phrases, Send Me Soaring
Card Stock: Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White
Ribbon: 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon in Lucky Limeade, Baker's Twine in Lucky Limeade
Accesories: Chevron Embossing Folder, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Stampin' Dimensionals.

My daughter, Emily (age 6), was down here with me and while I created my card she created a card of her own. She asked me to share it with you so here it is:

I hope you enjoyed my card. Please leave a comment so I know you stopped by!

The Mother of All Stampin' Supplies Has Arrived! I am ready to play along with a few challenges.

Hi Everyone! Well, the day has come! I waited ALL day for the man in the big brown truck to arrive so I could get all my new goodies from Stampin' Up! I am excited to get the new firm foam pads and lots of new stamp sets. I decided I would play along with the ladies over at the Paper Players and they had a color challenge this week- and two of the colors I don't have in the new pads since they are In Colors for 2011-2013. I couldn't see replacing them. The other color was Daffodil Delight but I didn't stamp any ink in that color so I was out of luck in getting to use the new ink pads. But, that is okay but I haven't stamped in so long that I was just happy to be stamping. I guess you want to know what the other two colors were. Here is the challenge:

I thought it would be fun to combine a few challenges as an extra challenge to myself so I also used my card to play along with Mojo Monday's sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

My friend Annette over at A. Spoon Full of Sugar is always encouraging me to try some of the Pink by Design Challenges and this week it was to use ribbon. I managed to incorporate some ribbon into my card too! So, I guess I am entering three challenges to welcome me back into the crafting zone!

Stop by tomorrow to see what I created:)

"luv u a latte" with Minnie Mouse

Hi Everyone! I know it has been forever and a day since I have actually shared anything with you. I have been selling some older stamp sets and ink pads to make room for some all new sets! I ordered the all new Firm Foam Ink Pads from Stampin' UP! and I am so excited for them to get here. So that is pretty much why I haven't been able to create anything. I sold the old ink pads... and I am waiting for the new ink pads to arrival. Stampin' Up! has been one busy place and it took longer than usual to get my order packed up and on its way. They should be here by the end of the week so I will be able to start playing again.

So, now it is time to share another Disneyscrapbook page. Today I have for you a Minnie Mouse page from our dinner at Chef Mickey's. I love the picture of Emily showing Minnie that there was a picture of her on her shirt. It was so cute:) It is the picture to the far right.

Both girls pages were the same so here is one:

Until next time... Happy Scrappin' and Happy Stampin'!
