Freshly Made Sketches: Moving Forward

I decided to use Moving Forward again for the Freshly Made Sketches #44 Challenge. I just love this stamp set and a donation is made to the Ronald McDonald house with every purchase. Here is my card:

Here is the original sketch:

Since my sentiment was on my main circle, I decided to add a strip of DSP in Polka Dot Parade in its place. You might be thinking to yourself that I didn't copy the sketch exactly. And you would be right! The great thing about sketched is that you can using them as a starting point for your card and tweak it and interpret as you see fit for your card. My main image of the bike was big and I needed the space in my circle to showcase the image so instead of overlapping a large circle, I decided to add the three flower along the edge. I like the card and I think it is ALWAYS okay to interpret a sketch in a way that fits what you are designing. Remember, sketches are designed to get the creative juices flowing but don't be afraid if the creativity takes a few twists and turns by the time it is finished. It will be all good in the end.

I know I had two posts today. The deadline for the two sketched were today and tomorrow and I needed to get them posted. My week ended up being way busier than I thought last week and it didn't leave much time for papercrafting fun so I needed to catch up today:)

Here are the details:
Stamp Set: Moving Forward
Ink: Real Red, Stampin' Write Markers in Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Real Red
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Accessories: Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Trio Flower Punch (retired but I still love it)

Until next time,
Shelly

  1. I really like your interpretation of our sketch! The image and sentiment are lovely and I like those sweet flowers! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!

P.S. It would be helpful if you turned Word Verification off. It's really difficult to decipher the code sometimes! Thanks!
