Another Easter Treat Holder

I got the basic idea for this box from Angie Kennedy Juda over at Chic n scratch but I don't have the direct link to the actual project. I tried to follow her directions but mine didn't turn out quite as well usingher measurements so the math teacher in me got out a ruler and paper and came up with my own measurements but it is still the same general idea as Angie's box. I used Pear Pizzazz but it is photographing a little darker than it actually is in real life. I stamped the little girl from the retired set Easter Blossoms but you could easily substitute an Easter stamp in your collection. I used Soft Suede to stamp her and then cropped her out with a circle punch. I layered that on a scalloped circle I cropped out with a punch. I used my paper piercer to pierce a small hole in each scallop. I layered this some Pear Pizzazz DSP using Stampin' Dimensionals. I added a bow to tie it shut and I was pretty much done!

I don't think it shows up very well but I did add some sparkle to her hair bow, flowers, and the Easter eggs. I tried to take a close-up but I still don't think you can see it has some sparkle.

Who Doesn't love a Reese's Egg?

Who doesn't love a Reese's Egg? I know I love them!!

I wanted to create a box that would perfectly fit a Reese's Egg. I must say being a math teacher came in handy when trying to figure out the dimensions. I used a 5.5 by 7 inch piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock. I scored the 7 inch side at 1, 3, 4, and 6 inches. I scored the 5.5 inch side at 1 and 4.5 inches. I then cut along the score lines on each of the 7 inch sides up to the 1 inch score lines to create my box.

I added a belly band in Pool Party to hold my box closed. If you want to create this box make sure the belly band is not to tight as you want it to slide easily off.

I used a *retired* stamp set called Festive Four. I dont make a lot of Easter projects so I don't buy a lot of Easter stamps so I used one I already had. Don't worry as you could easily substitute any smaller sized Easter stamp you own instead. I colored in my image using a blender pen and ink pads in Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, and Pear Pizzazz. I popped this up on a dimensional.

Blessed Easter Tall and Skinny Mojo Style

After some illnesses swept through our house, I am finally back in the groove of papercrafting and will have several Easter projects to share with you this wee. The first one is an Easter card. I used the Mojo Monday Sketch to design my card. I used a card base of 6 inches by 4.5 inches in So Saffron. I added a piece of Pink Pirouette at the top and then the DSP is in Wild Wasabi. My image and sentiment are from the stamp set Blessed Easter. I cut the sentiment apart from the tulips so I wasn't as limited in how I could use the tulips. I stamped them both in Crumb Cake because I wanted a nice subtle image and the Staz On Jet Black was not doing it for me. I used my Stampin' Write Markers in the same colors to color in my tulips and leaves and then cut them out with an oval framelit. I used the Candy Dots in Wild Wasabu and some ribbon in SO Saffron that I had in my stash. I like how the card came together. I need to make an envelope still so we will see how that goes!

Happy Easter- Adorable Bunny Style

I love, love, love these bunnies from last year's Occasions Mini Catalog. So, they are reappearing in time for this year's Easter crafting projects. I played along with one of my favorite sketch challenges, Mojo Monday. It is contest week so be sure to play along!

I used Daffodil Delight as my card base and then added a strip from the Watercolor Wonder DSP. It has such great colors for Spring! I wanted to stay with more Spring colors so I went with Pool Party as my sky in my meadow scene. Instead a adding another layer, I used my paper piercing tool and added a double border to my Pool Party piece . To make it super easier to line up your piercings and keep them straight, use the Paper-Piercing Pack Essentials. I then added a sun using a 1 inch circle punch and I cropped it out of Daffodil Delight. I popped this up with a Stampin' Dimensional. To make it look lke my bunnies were playing in a meadow I used my scissors to add fringe to a piece of Pear Pizazz cardstock. I have the new Fringe scissors on my list but they are on backorder last I heard. I stamped my bunnies twice, once in Strawberry Slush and the other on Calypso Coral. I fussy cut them out and used two of one color and one of the other on each card. The first two are sitting behind the grass while the third one is popped up on dimensionals in front of the grass. I added a Calypso Coral bow. I tied the bow using a fork...here is the video. You can also use scissors in pretty much the same way. I can see that my bow tails aren't the same length on the two cards! I stamped my sentiment "Happy Easter" from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes. On one card I used Calypso Coral and the other I used Strawberry Slush. I punched them out using the Word Window punch. If you do not have the set Teeny Tiny Wishes, I highly recommend adding it to your stamp set. It is the most versatile stamp set I have ever owned. It has so many different stamps and seriously has a sentiment for every occasion.

I am super pleased with how my card turned out. I had it created in my mind ever since Monday and couldn't wait to actually create it with paper and stamps. These cards will go to my daughter's teachers in a few weeks.
