Another Blessed Easter Card Using Freshly Made Sketches

Here is another Easter card I made using the Blessed Easter set. I used the weekly sketch from Freshly Made Sketches to help me create my card. I styaed with the same colors of So Saffronm Wild Wasabi, and Pink Pirouette. I used So Saffron as my card base and stamped my sentiment using Crumb Cake. I stamped my tulips also with the Crumb Cake on Whisper White cardstock. On my card yesterday I did two-tones tulips but decided to do solid colored tulips today but in two different colors. I layered my tulips on Pink Pink Pirouette cardstock and then DSP in Wild Wasabi. I added a small strip of Pink Pirouette going across the card. I added some So Saffron ribbon to the edge of my top layer to give it a little pizzazz.

Here is the sketch I used:

And here is a close-up of the tulips all colored in:

I think the recipient will be happy to get this card in the mail!!

Happy Stamping until next time!

Is There Such a Thing As a Simple Thank You?

I don't know that there is such a thing as a simple thank you. Even if the card has a clean and simple design the feelings of appreciation mean so much. I designed this card with two challenges in mind. The first was a sketch challenge by Freshly Made Sketches that you can see here and then a thank you theme challange by The Paper Players that you can see here.

I kept trying to use a rectangular piece of DSP in the center and it just wasn't working for my card. I ended up pulling out my Labels Collection Framelits and cropping my Sycamore Street DSP that I got during last year's Sale-A-Bration. I used Pool Party as my card base. I colored one of the flowers from Posy Punch using my Summer Starfruit Stampin' Write Marker and then the petals with my Rich Razzleberry one. I punched it out using the Fancy Flower Punch. I did pop it up on dimensionals. My thank you sentiment comes from the set Wishes Your Way.

Pleasant Poppies

Freshly Made Sketches put out another great sketch for all of us papercrafters to play along with. You can see it here.

I like using one large image and then cutting it into panels. I stamped Pleasant Poppies in Early Espresso and then colored the poppies with Blushing Bride and the stems with Pear Pizazz... a color combination I got from the Color Coach. After I had it all colored I cut the image and layered each section onto Pear Pizazz cardstock. I then layered those onto a large layer of Blushing Bride. Add a strip of Pear Pizazz ribbon and a Early Expresso button and you are almost done. I didn't want to leave my button bare so I trimmed a very thin strip of Pear Pizazz cardstock and threaded it though my botton holes.

I have an early day tomorrow so I am off to bed!

Make a Wish with Perfect Pennants

I played along with the girls over at Freshly Made Sketches and this week's sketch challenge. I really love how the card turned out. This card is for one of my daughter's best friends. They met in preschool and have stayed friends. Even though they didn't go to the same elementary after preschool, they are soccer teammates so they still get to see each other on a fairly regular basis. I asked my daughter, Emily, what color she wanted me to make the card and she said pink... so I went to my Color Coach and looked at Melon Mambo. It suggested Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant so I went with it. It is kinf of funny because I upgraded all my ink pads to the new firm foam pads right when they came out and I had never even opened Elegant Eggplant! It is so pretty so I don't know why. That is what is great about the Color Coach- it helps you break out some colors you don't go to alot.

I stamped the cupcake from Itty Bitty in each color a few times and then punched them out with the 1/2 inch circle punch. I then punched out the scalloped circles with the 7/8 inch scallop circle and mounted the cupcakes. I had my Old Olive ribbon from last years Occasions mini and it was the only Old Olive ribbon I could find! I guess I need to put some on my order list... or figure out where my other is! I stamped the make a wish from the new stamp set Perfect Pennants. This was my must have item from this year's Occasions catalog. I knew right away that I had to have it (and the matching framelits but I didn't use them on this card). My card base is Melon Mambo.

Ask me how you can get a FREE Sale-A-Bration item for every $50 you spend before tax and shipping!!
